MIKE KAVENEY
CEO | CEIS
 

With a distinguished career, Mike Kaveney has served as the Chief Operating Officer at BHI Energy, a leading provider of specialty services and staffing solutions in the energy sector. During his tenure, Mike demonstrated remarkable leadership, overseeing operations, and managing the successful integration of multiple acquisitions. His efforts contributed significantly to BHI Energy's acquisition by Westinghouse Electric Company. Mike holds an MBA from Georgia State University and a bachelor’s degree in physics from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

 

As CEO of CEIS, Mike will lead our company's strategic direction, operations, business development, and integration initiatives. Mike’s extensive experience and industry knowledge will be invaluable as CEIS continues to execute its growth plan.

DARREN HUXOL
CFO | CEIS
 

Darren Huxol is the Chief Financial Officer for Critical Energy Infrastructure Services, LLC (CEIS).  Darren held various leadership roles at General Electric from 1989 through 2017, and CFO roles at VC and mid-market companies focused on Healthcare, A.I. and GPS technologies from 2018 through 2022.  He is a GE Financial Management Program graduate (GE Energy) and an alumnus of GE’s Corporate Audit Staff.  Significant roles at GE include CFO of GE Nuclear Services, CRO and CMO of GE Insurance Solutions, CMO Operations GE Aviation, and GM Programs Leader for GE Aviation China.  Darren graduated from Missouri State University with a dual major in finance and investments.

MATT CUSTER, CIH
CEO | CLOVER LEAF SOLUTIONS
 

Matt Custer is the CEO of Clover Leaf. Matt is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with extensive work experience at DOE national laboratories. He maintains oversight of primary projects within the ES&H team and determines technical support needs with customers.

Prior to Clover Leaf, he served as an IH Team Leader at Sandia, encompassing a total client base of approximately 1500 facility workers. He supervised 7 technical staff members, coordinating specific IH support activities for mission customers.

Matt holds a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Chemistry from the University of New Mexico, and an M.S. in Environmental Health from Colorado State University.

COREY ENGLEBRAKE, CCM, PMP
COO | CLOVER LEAF SOLUTIONS
 

Corey is the COO of Clover Leaf and is a PMP and CCM. Corey leads all facilities infrastructure initiatives, managing a team of 40+ construction managers and inspectors to ensure the client is getting a quality product delivered on time and on budget.

 

He currently is overseeing a multi-million dollar construction management and inspection services contract for Sandia in both NM and CA, two inspection contracts with LANL, and several construction-related contracts in NM and TX. Corey holds our GB98 Contractors License with the State of New Mexico.

Corey holds an Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology from the Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades.

JEFF FASSETT
PRESIDENT | IEM ENERGY CONSULTANTS
 

Owner and founder of IEM Energy Consultants LLC has almost 35 years of broad based experience in the power and process industries. He founded IEM in 1998, which provides consulting services in all aspects of power plant operations, maintenance, and management to clients worldwide. Mr. Fassett has been involved in the negotiations of long-term service agreements representing almost 30 GW of gas turbine generating capacity worldwide and has testified as an expert witness regarding proper operations and maintenance practices and procedures.

Prior to forming IEM, Mr. Fassett held roles of increasing responsibility with various utilities, both regulated and IPP’s, as well as petrochemical process facilities. These roles included Plant Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Start Up Manager, Maintenance Manager and Plant Superintendent. His experience includes coal, combined cycle and coal gasification. Mr. Fassett sits on the Board of Directors of the Plant Managers Institute, the Advisory Board of the Electric Power Conference, is a member of the ASME Power Committee, and International Gas Turbine Institute, Education Subcommittee. He has taught college classes in Energy & the Environment, Ethics in the Energy Industry, Electronics and Power Plant Operations. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University with an emphasis in Power Plant System Design.

ROBERT M. SHEPARD, P.E., PMP
VICE PRESIDENT | IEM ENERGY CONSULTANTS
 

Rob Shepard has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry including coal, gas, oil and renewable fueled power generation facilities. He has extensive knowledge and experience in operations, maintenance and asset management of power generation and process facilities gained from first-hand experiences and leadership roles throughout his career. He is recognized as an industry expert in power asset maintenance management, outage management, operations, troubleshooting, plant startup and commissioning as well as root cause analysis (RCA). He has also implemented maintenance management systems, performed reliability studies, and provided training in all the above areas. His knowledge and experience have proven invaluable in supporting due diligence for power plant acquisitions. Rob provides expert witness testimony in his areas of expertise in support of our clients.

Mr. Shepard is a leader with strong character and exceptional work ethic. Mr. Shepard holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University. He is a registered Professional Engineer (Kansas #17743 and Mississippi #20887) and is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMI ID: 2355353). Rob is a board member for the ASME Mississippi Section.
