400MW Gas Fired Modernization Project Spotlight
PROJECT BACKGROUND
A major utility initiated an expansion project to enhance capacity by 400MW, and support Nevada's growing energy demands. The expansion involved adding two new natural gas-fired units and was approved for $353 million.
The project received expedited approval from the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada due to the urgent need to increase the state's energy supply. Construction began in 2023 and concluded in 2024 (9 months).
