Employee Highlight: Rusty Abrams: CEIS | Power: Boiler Service Manager

Rusty Abrams knew from an early age what career path he wanted to follow. Both his father and grandfather were millwrights in Ohio, and—as the saying goes—the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

In Abrams’ case, however, the apple has also traveled around the world.

Today, Abrams serves as the Boiler Service Manager for CEIS Power—a role he says he truly enjoys. His extensive experience makes him well suited for the position. While still in high school, he began a millwright apprenticeship and simultaneously enrolled in college night classes. Education, he explains, has always been a priority.

“My education just kept building. It was important to me,” he said.

His growing knowledge eventually led him to become both a welding inspector and an instructor, teaching others the trade. This foundation naturally progressed into specialized boiler work.

“I had worked on several powerhouses, which helped me gain more experience with boilers. I kept moving up and ended up as a supervisor,” Abrams said.

His expertise took him across the globe, where he not only helped construct new power plants but also retrofit aging ones. His work has brought him to Ireland 11 times, Vietnam three times, and to projects in nearly every U.S. state.

In his current role with CEIS, Abrams plays a critical part in managing day-to-day boiler operations. He oversees budgets, contract proposals, and on-site activities, and—most importantly—maintains open, positive communication with clients. His deep technical knowledge of steam-generating and boiler support equipment makes him a vital connection between leadership and field teams.

Abrams lives in Ohio, is the father of two children, and is preparing to welcome a new grandchild.

CEIS | Power is proud to have him on our team!
