High Voltage Electrical Estimator

One Tech Engineering is searching for a High Voltage Electrical Estimator for a position located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The High Voltage Electrical Estimator will be responsible for all aspects of bidding transmission, distribution and substation work.

The role develops cost estimates, manages preconstruction budgets and schedules, reviews drawings and specifications, coordinates vendor quotations and prepares complete bid packages for management review.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or green card holders. The position is not eligible for sponsorship.

High Voltage Electrical Estimator Responsibilities

• Bid projects and prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Prepare and oversee preconstruction budgets and scheduling.
• Download project drawings and bid documents.
• Review contract drawings and specifications.
• Reach out to vendors and suppliers to obtain quotations.
• Perform job site visits as required prior to bid submission.
• Create high-level project schedules for inclusion in bid documents.
• Prepare bid letters and additional documentation required for project bids.
• Prepare and present quantity takeoffs, quotations, bid letters and supporting documents to the Electrical Division Manager for review.
• Perform additional estimating and preconstruction duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience across electrical construction, design and finance.
• At least two years of experience or knowledge involving electrical project management.
• Electrical estimating experience involving transmission, distribution, switchyards and substations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing estimating priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Accubid, Construct Jobs or comparable bidding software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam.

Preferred experience

• Previous experience managing electrical construction projects.
• Experience combining electrical construction, design, finance and management responsibilities.
• Experience with Accubid.
• Experience with Microsoft Project.
• Experience with Bluebeam.
• Ability to manage multiple high-revenue projects.
• Primavera P6 scheduling experience.
