Senior Civil Engineer

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Senior Civil Engineer for a position located in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Senior Civil Engineer will lead civil design project teams delivering new projects, alterations and redevelopment work across a broad range of complex facilities and infrastructure environments.

Project exposure may include data centers, power facilities, process projects, corporate developments, healthcare, pipelines, airports, institutional facilities, industrial sites, manufacturing, government and military work.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or green card holders. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Senior Civil Engineer Responsibilities

• Lead civil design teams through planning, design development and project delivery.
• Review civil vendor drawings and coordinate technical information between suppliers, clients, designers and engineering disciplines.
• Participate in development of project scope, schedules, staffing plans, budgets and construction planning.
• Support effective management of project changes and change orders.
• Apply advanced civil engineering concepts, codes, practices and procedures to complex project requirements.
• Develop studies, technical reports and non-standard design solutions where required.
• Review production drawings and project data for compliance with client, project and industry requirements.
• Evaluate constructability and identify design issues before field execution.
• Review construction administration activities and coordinate with field personnel to resolve installation issues.
• Review engineering calculations, field inspections and material testing.
• Lead field inspections, measurements and technical evaluations.
• Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry audiences.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors and customers.
• Support business development and identify key project pursuits.
• Lead development of cost proposals and qualification packages.
• Prepare and manage project budgets and cost estimates.
• Report project performance to appropriate stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to the civil engineering practice.
• Mentor and develop less-experienced engineers.
• Maintain QA/QC process compliance.
• Coordinate effectively with other engineering disciplines.
• Follow company and project-site safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree from an ABET-accredited program with seven years of civil engineering experience.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the FE exam and seven years of civil engineering experience.
• A Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with six years of civil engineering experience may also qualify.
• EPC project experience is preferred.
• Expert knowledge of standard civil engineering techniques and procedures.
• Strong experience with civil engineering and design software.
• Experience may include AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D and MathCAD.
• Experience with hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement or other civil analysis software is valuable.
• Experience leading discipline design for major projects.
• Ability to delegate engineering tasks and guide project team members.
• Strong critical-thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, collaboration and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform detailed engineering document and specification reviews.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Professional Engineer license is preferred.
