This position is based in Kansas City, Missouri and is not remote. Local candidates are preferred, although candidates open to relocation may also be considered.
The Opportunity

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Project Controls Specialist for a position located in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Project Controls Specialist will lead day-to-day project controls activities and support program management teams with reliable cost, schedule and performance information.

The role supports program reporting, critical path scheduling, forecasting, document controls, earned value and project risk monitoring.

Candidates should have three years of direct project controls experience and a background in engineering, construction management or a related field.

Position Overview

This role combines program controls, schedule development, cost forecasting, earned value, progress tracking, risk management, reporting and stakeholder coordination.

Project Controls Specialist Responsibilities

  • Support program reporting systems and client-facing controls reporting.
  • Help configure planning and controls functions for client programs.
  • Support critical path scheduling, estimating and project cost management.
  • Maintain forecasting and program reporting processes.
  • Review project execution and controls documentation.
  • Support Earned Value Management reporting and quality review.
  • Prepare and review cost-management and forecast reports.
  • Develop cash-flow reporting for program stakeholders.
  • Analyze planning and controls data and reports.
  • Develop Work Breakdown Structures and multiple schedule levels.
  • Apply schedule logic and perform what-if analysis.
  • Monitor schedule resource loading and progress risks.
  • Validate progress measurement and maintain progress curves.
  • Perform field audits of project-controls processes.
  • Support program risk identification and mitigation activities.
  • Participate in Interactive Program Planning Meetings.
  • Analyze forecast costs against schedules and critical milestones.
  • Support technical questions from the program team.
  • Assist with internal financial system updates.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, customers and contractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
  • Three years of direct project controls experience.
  • Applicable professional experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Oracle Primavera P6 experience is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain it.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder.
  • Must be available to work on-site in Kansas City.
