The Opportunity

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Designer for a position located in Phillips, Wisconsin.

The Designer will design and manage electric distribution projects for new and existing utility customers.

The position combines customer interaction, field assessments, project management and electric distribution system design using GE Smallworld GIS.

The successful candidate will also support transformer sizing, underground cable routing, pole placement, SAP coordination and weekly project scheduling activities.

Position Overview

This role combines electric distribution design, customer coordination, field surveying, GE Smallworld GIS, transformer sizing, underground routing, pole placement and project management.

Designer Responsibilities

  • Interact directly with customers and address their project needs.
  • Manage electric distribution projects from planning through execution.
  • Conduct field assessments and project surveys.
  • Perform electric distribution system design using customized GE Smallworld GIS.
  • Size transformers for customer and distribution projects.
  • Plan underground electrical cable routes.
  • Determine appropriate utility pole placement.
  • Review SAP for new customer contacts.
  • Attend weekly scheduling meetings.
  • Participate in team coordination sessions.
  • Maintain communication with project stakeholders.
  • Organize multiple project activities and priorities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One to two or more years of professional work experience.
  • Basic electrical knowledge or background.
  • Previous electrical industry experience is preferred.
  • Previous utility industry experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • GIS experience is a plus.
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers.
  • Ability to perform field assessments and surveys.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder.
