Electrical & Instrumentation Department Manager

One Tech Engineering is searching for an Electrical & Instrumentation Department Manager for a position located in Appleton, Wisconsin.

The Department Manager will provide leadership to the team, direct and coordinate work assignments and review performance to ensure efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.

This role is also responsible for profitable department growth, staffing levels, billable utilization, financial performance, budgets, workload reporting and technical guidance.

The manager will work with department managers, business development leaders, project managers and proposal teams while also leading recruitment, training, retention, performance evaluations, safety compliance and QA/QC.

Electrical & Instrumentation Department Manager Responsibilities

• Lead the department and provide guidance and instruction to staff.
• Direct and coordinate staff work assignments.
• Review employee performance and department effectiveness.
• Drive profitable growth of the department.
• Maintain appropriate department staffing levels.
• Manage staff loading across active projects.
• Coordinate staff assignments with project requirements.
• Maintain established billable utilization goals.
• Implement company, practice and regional initiatives.
• Support organizational change within the department.
• Provide expert-level technical guidance.
• Provide design guidance and technical support.
• Achieve established financial performance targets.
• Manage the department operating budget.
• Manage department expenditures.
• Prepare department workload reports.
• Prepare monthly financial reports.
• Present workload and financial information to management.
• Coordinate with applicable project managers.
• Collaborate with other department managers.
• Collaborate with business development managers.
• Coordinate with business line leads.
• Coordinate with proposal production staff.
• Support proposals that secure work for department staff.
• Recruit new department employees.
• Develop and train department staff.
• Support employee retention initiatives.
• Conduct employee performance evaluations.
• Interpret organizational policies and goals for staff.
• Maintain overall QA/QC process adherence.
• Enforce company safety requirements.
• Enforce project-site safety policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.
• Seven years of direct applicable experience.
• Applicable experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Oracle Primavera P6 experience preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail.
