Construction Manager

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Construction Manager for a position located in Becker, Minnesota.

The Construction Manager is responsible for preconstruction support with project management, including drawing and specification reviews, contract and submittal reviews, and additional front-end planning activities.

The position also supports active field execution, including daily construction objectives, utility installations, inspections, scheduling, project reporting and coordination across multiple project stakeholders.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or green card holders and should have five to seven years of renewable energy experience with battery backup knowledge.

Construction Manager Responsibilities

• Meet with inspectors and the construction team to discuss daily objectives and critical construction activities.
• Coordinate priorities involving mass grading, utility installations and other key site activities.
• Review construction drawings and specifications and ensure project teams understand project requirements.
• Review contracts and submittals and address issues identified during preconstruction or execution.
• Provide progress, challenge and schedule updates to project leadership and project management.
• Oversee installation of city utilities and internal private utilities.
• Verify utility installation activities meet required project quality standards.
• Conduct inspections of active construction work.
• Inspect underground wiring and other field installations for compliance with safety and engineering specifications.
• Manage multiple projects and coordinate results toward broader program goals.
• Plan and implement project schedules.
• Monitor programs from inception through delivery and help ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Define and report program status, development issues and success metrics.
• Identify and monitor areas of project risk.
• Seek opportunities to improve project cost, performance and schedule.
• Facilitate communication and coordination among multiple projects.
• Manage stakeholder engagement and satisfaction.
• Maintain awareness of business conditions, trends and internal processes affecting project execution.
• Follow standard project management methodologies and reporting techniques.

Requirements

• Five to seven years of renewable energy experience.
• Battery backup or battery storage knowledge.
• Project management experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction activities and processes.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Leadership and mentorship skills.
• Quality assurance experience.
• Safety assurance experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency with SharePoint.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
