Intel · "Hedgehog" Project · Four-Year Program

CEIS supported a semiconductor expansion that doubled production capacity over four years. The project experienced a serious crane incident, and CEIS was brought in to conduct a full inspection, evaluation, investigation, causal analysis and formal reporting.

Following the investigation, CEIS placed safety personnel onsite full time. There were no subsequent recordable incidents during the period discussed, beyond minor non-recordable events.

The lesson is not that one safety team can eliminate every possible incident. It is that experienced, dedicated safety leadership can materially strengthen project controls after a serious event exposes a gap.

CEIS's first hyperscale engagement, spanning eight buildings over roughly six years, began with safety support and later expanded into project controls and quality. At peak activity, approximately 12 CEIS safety personnel were onsite.

During construction, geotechnical conditions forced a foundation redesign that changed the civil work. CEIS helped adapt safety planning around new drilled-pier methods and revised construction activities as the project team worked through the redesign.

The relationship then became the foundation for a larger one: CEIS subsequently mobilized approximately 100 safety professionals across roughly ten additional projects for the same construction organization across the Southwest.
